Christian Tatonetti

Christian Tatonetti was born in Montreal. He lived ten years on Salt Spring Island before moving to Victoria where he studied classical singing at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. This innovative artist and musician also plays sitar and piano. He won first prize for best original song at “Le Gala Provincial de la Chanson” in British-Columbia in 2002. He was awarded “Best Singer Interpreter” at the same Provincial competition in 2004. Christian also joined Theatre Inconnu for ”Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris” in Victoria. Christian recently sang in Mozart’s ”Cosi FanTutte” with Pacific Opera Victoria.  Until recently, he was radio host of a morning show at a local French radio station in Victoria. Christian also performs at music festivals and at Victoria’s waterfront playing his sitar and has toured some of the Gulf Islands during the summer of 2010 singing classical repertoire songs and a new modern piece composed by Sylvia Rickard titled: “Belle Mere”. Other activities include photography, making music videos and teaching French. His latest venture is beekeeping “Bees and Love Co.” where he will help promote and educate himself and other people about the importance of pollination by the bees for the survival of many species including ours.
